AskHOA was founded in San Francisco with a single observation: the communities where residents pay the most to live are often the ones with the least sophisticated systems for handling their requests. Permit review in luxury condominiums was — and in most buildings still is — managed through email threads, spreadsheet trackers, and institutional memory that walks out the door when a board member’s term ends.
We built AskHOA to change that. Not by adding another layer of software to an already complicated process, but by bringing genuine intelligence to it — the kind that reads your specific CC&Rs, learns your building’s precedents, and delivers decisions that are consistent, documented, and defensible every single time.

AskHOA launched in San Francisco because this is where the intersection of luxury residential living and complex HOA governance is most acute. The buildings on Nob Hill, in Pacific Heights, in Rincon Hill and South Beach — these are communities with distinct standards, distinct CC&Rs, and residents with distinct expectations. We are building the system these communities deserve.
